Philadelphia Filmmakers Salon If you're a filmmaker, screenwriter or actor and want to meet, connect and socialize with others, this is the place for you. This monthly event gives you the opportunity to see what projects members of the local film community are working on and gather in a casual setting. This month's meeting will be held at Filmtech, a new independent film school that recently opened in Philadelphia. Filmtech offers classes for film production as well as a space for shooting and to host screening events. Below is a description of Filmtech and some information about their services. Filmtech, Philadelphia's independent film school, offers courses in all aspects of film and video production, from videography and cinematography to screenwriting and film history. Whether you have a general interest in film, want to start producing your own work, or want to begin a career in the film and video business, Filmtech is the place for you. Located in South Philadelphia, a half block from Broad Street and Snyder Avenue, Filmtech offers a wide variety of individual classes on a short-term basis - 10 weeks or fewer, at night and on weekends to fit your schedule. Instructors are drawn from the Philadelphia area's rich pool of talented professionals working in academia, for production companies and as filmmakers and crew members.
