Actors,

In the next course starting the week of November 9th, students will explore many different kinds of exercises, scene study, and improvs, on and off camera, and have fun staging performances in class using costumes and props.

Here are commendations from the actors who just completed a semester:

"The course covered about everything that I needed to know. Going in front of the camera, I got to see myself acting."
-- Greg Oden, Baton Rouge

"It is unlike any other workshop I've taken. I feel I got a lot more out of it than I did with any other workshop I've taken. The filming was a blast!"
-- Jennifer Caplan, Metairie

"In this and my previous sessions with The Actors Alliance I have learned more about acting and being believable than any other classes I've taken. I learned a lot about being on an actual set."
-- Alyssa Wininger, New Orleans

"I am more than satisfied."
-- Donnie Grice, Mandeville

"The course offers great training, feedback, and experience needed to act for speaking roles. The filming prepared me for what to expect on a set."
-- Rhonda Laizer, Metairie

"It was pretty awesome!"
-- Angelina Davenport, Kenner

"It was very well thought out with the planning."
-- Ethan McIntyre, Springfield

"It teaches you to overcome your fear of being in front of people."
-- Larry Lundy, Baton Rouge

"This was the best and hardest workshop I have been through. I loved all of it."
-- Susan Arthur, Covington

~ TEACHER BIO ~

Veleka Gray is a professional actress, acting coach, writer, and producer with credits in film, television, and Broadway. Her most recent screen roles are as Eleanor in "Flood Streets" and as Dr. Souza in "Flag of My Father."

As an actress on afternoon television, she set a record by starring in nine different roles in six soap operas, seven of which were contract roles, more than any other actor in daytime drama. Her best-remembered parts include Lyla Montgomery on "As the World Turns" and the unusual dual role of Ruby Collins and Dr. Sharon Reaves on "The Young & The Restless." She is the only actress in soap history to play two roles on the same show at the same time that were not related in any way.

During the fifteen years she was on daytime, she was also a judge for the National Emmy Awards and is a member of the Academy. In 2009 she signed on as executive producer of the award-winning short film "Halfway" and has several other projects in development for 2010.
