It's time to get creative. If you have ideas for short movies, or are just interesting in helping others to turn their ideas into reality, then Let's Make a Movie.

We will be meeting periodically to develop ideas for short movies to be shot either on Digital Video or film. I have all of the digital video equipment that we need to make shorts, so all we need are ideas, writers, actors, and crew. We would like to produce 3-4 short movies per year for submission to film festivals or for distribution over the internet. If we get a lot of participation, we might even do more.

Producing a movie does involve some work, but it is also a lot of fun. We start with a simple idea or premise for the movie. Then we get some volunteers to work on the script and shot descriptions. We will need people to scout out locations and to act. On production days, we will all get together and shoot the scenes. Then some post-production volunteers will put it all together into the final movie. We will all have to be creative, since these will pretty much be no budget movies, but that can inspire some really great stuff.

We are currently working on getting two productions going and are looking for people to help with them! Here are the two stories we are working on...

E-Disharmony A computer generates matches for dates which end up being some of the worst dates the participants have had. When the program gets messed up and starts matching total opposites together the website becomes more succsessful than ever!

Super-Duper Gang A two part story about a team of super heros, with some funny characters and twists! Script is already done and we will be working on polishing it and casting soon.

How to get your idea into production
If you have an idea you would like to see made into a movie, the following are the major steps in a production:

• Submit an outline of your idea to the Producer (he will help you with the following steps)
  
• If your idea is selected for production...
  
  
  
  • Select writer(s) and a director (typically you will be the director, you may also be the writer or find others to help with the writing)
    
  • Develop the idea into a script
    
  • Develop a storyboard/shotlist and production plan from the script
    
  • Work with the producer to schedule production dates
    
  • Work with the editor to edit the movie
    
  • Distribute the movie to viewers
