The New York Indie Film Education Group

The goal of the group is to get people together who are interested in learning filmmaking. The main thing that will separate us from other groups is that this is a hands-on group that will do things based on real life experiences as opposed to pure theory. At every Meetup, we will learn about an aspect of filmmaking and we will shoot a short scene. Inexperienced people can just come to just watch or participate as an actor, crew, etc. Experienced people are also welcomed to come to contribute their knowledge or hone their skills. At mid-year, we will also shoot a short film based on a script submitted from members of this group so please start submitting your short scripts for consideration. Ultimately this group can be a network for members to find collaborators. I am a writer/director and you can see my work at www.scalpthemovie.co m . We will meet once every 2 months. Thanks.

Pre-Production Meeting 2
Similar to the 4/30/08 Meeting but this time we will finalize the scripts so please work on ideas for the scripts, especially Addiction, which we indicated needed an ending and also some refinements (see the email I sent out after the 4/30 Meeting). Also finish storyboards so please come in with detailed board ideas. We will also use a digital camera to do photo storyboards. Read more
