This will be the first Meet Up for our newly focused group. Location is still TBD.

The idea for this meet up will be that we are going to make a short movie in 8 hours. We'll meet somewhere in San Francisco, determine what equipment & actors we have, come up with a script concept, and start filming.
Everyone must be involved, must be open minded, and must be flexible. Later we'll have someone (everyone?) edit it, add some music & credits, and post it somewhere for the group to watch.
Thats it!

We will NOT be worrying about: Making money, awards, festivals, distribution or anything related to the "business" of movies. This will just be fun with the only goal being fun and having something to watch later.

Let me know what equipment you have (keep it simple & light) and what aspect of on the fly movie making most appeals to you. Keep in mind however, you might have to do multiple tasks, including acting!

No themes will be decided until Sunday. Maybe something you want to convey to the world will be decided, on, but it won't be a requirement.

Is there a theme or message we want to convey to the world ? Or is it a show about nothing ?

    •  It was a wacky idea but it worked much better than I dared expect. Each of our two groups actually completed production on a short film in about 6-7 hours. Of course it's not Citizen Kane, but we each put in our best effort and I think we all had fun.
