Hi all,

Several people emailed directly to say that they could not make the meeting on the 16th, so we'll postpone getting together 'til next week: June 23rd. Also, since so many people have signed up for the Film Industry, the Screenwriting and the Documentary Meetups, and since we're all working on the same two short films together, we'll only be sending announcements to the FILM INDUSTRY MEETUP from now on. You can stay on the other meetup lists, but after today, we'll only send emails to this listserve!

At the meeting on June 23rd, we'll work on the two scripts together and lay out a tentative time-frame for the project.

Do try to have started the book "Story" by McKee, because we'll discuss the first section "Elements of Story", at this meeting. This book contains great info for both fiction and documentary writing!!!

You can order it directly from any anglophone bookstore or from Amazon.fr:

Also, please bring ideas you have for finding equipment, locations to shoot and actors!

Cheers to you!

Come meet the other members of this and other film industry meetups! As people wear several hats in this industry we thought it would be a great idea to create a group that can work together from several different angles: learning, laughing, doing it!

At this meeting, we?ll talk about a structure that will help us lay the groundwork for working together and for supporting each other?s projects.

We'll also set some goals for the group so that, at every step, we can demonstrate what we?re actually accomplished.

We?ll meet (tentatively) at Café Français, which is right at the Bastille metro (the rue St. Antoine exit). This café has an area that's a bit apart from the rest and the owner said she would set it up in a semi-private fashion for us. (There also is another cool place a block or so away where we could have more privacy, but we have to double check the availability.) Stay tuned. Both are near a very major subway station (Bastille), so they're great for gatherings!)

So, see you at 7 pm, on Monday, June 2nd!!

Cheers!

During the coming months, we'll present several lively and energetic gatherings focusing on

"Hollywood", "Bollywood", "Nollywood", "film d'auteur" and beyond!

This initial one-day event -- taught by a Hollywood movie and TV executive, producer and writer -- will show you how to create and write good Hollywood screenplays, from desirable marketing concepts to the details of story design and Hollywood-style screenwriting.

Plus: How to put yourself into your movies -- your beliefs, your values, your creative visions -- to create screenplays that will make Hollywood studio executives turn the pages, laugh, cry and buy!
